The workshop will introduce the history, evolution, materials, and techniques of the Hong Kong Intangible Cultural Heritage - Bamboo Theatre and Flower Plaque. This workshop is hosted by reEDIT Lab, with a core mission of "MAKE IT LAST". Through hands-on experience, participants will learn more about the environmental impact brought by discarded plastic and how to use a small-scale recycling machine to transform collected plastic waste from daily life into meaningful products, taking this opportunity to craft personalised trendy accessories.

To encourage youth participation in community activities for building up healthy habit and personal physique through fencing experience.

Knot designer Zoe Siu, the creative unit for #ddHK’s installation at Sam Tung Uk Museum this year, will be hosting this weaving workshop. Zoe will engage participants through innovative weaving techniques to create simple auspicious patterns such as flowers and animals inspired by Hakka flower bands. This is not only an opportunity to learn about Hakka culture but also a journey to explore the fusion of traditional craftsmanship and contemporary art.

Lai Chi Wo is one of the largest and best-preserved Hakka walled villages in Hong Kong, with a history of over 300 years. Participants of this tour will take ferry from Sha Tau Kok and wander through the Lai Chi Wo Village. Local walking tour experts from Walk in Hong Kong will also explore the walled village structure and the lifestyle of Hakka villagers, uncovering the root and stories of Hakka culture with participants.

Virtual Production is a global trend in the creative industry that utilises high-precision LED screens to display dynamic backgrounds combined with live performances, creating an instant and realistic shooting environment. Participants will step into STAGEPLUS, Hong Kong's first virtual technology production and filming studio in Tsuen Wan. STAGEPLUS will introduce 360-degree 3D stage control technology and LED screen filming for movies and media industry, allowing participants to explore diverse scenes, three-dimensional models, and shooting angle setups, experiencing the possibilities of technology and innovative filming.

Columnist, editor, photographer, and independent curator Kit Chan will explore lesser-known architectural gems with participants, alongside notable landmarks in Tsuen Wan. They include Maykong Godown, Fuk Loi Estate, and The Mills, delving deep into the uniquely designed buildings. He will guide everyone in uncovering the stories behind these buildings, which encapsulate memories, culture, and history of Tsuen Wan, showcasing how these architectural gems reflect the diversity and local culture of the neighbourhood.

Through the photography competition, participants can gain a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, cultivate their awareness and love for Chinese culture, and broaden their horizons.

Dynamic Flipping and Dancing Music Experience

Taking the Lunar New Year as an opportunity, enhance the sense of belonging to the community for both the youth and the elderly by organizing a youth-led elderly care activity.

Sha Tau Kok boasts charming scenery and a rich artistic scene. Apart from the Sha Tau Kok Estate, dubbed as the “Salmon House” and expressive murals near Sha Tau Kok Square, participants will also visit the three creative installations brought by #ddHK. The local walking tour experts from Walk in Hong Kong will engage participants in exploring these landmarks from creative and cultural aspects, discovering local stories, artistic vibes and lifestyle of Sha Tau Kok.

The Seaside Weekend Market, a vibrant showcase of local culture and craftsmanship along the picturesque seaside of Sha Tau Kok, will feature nearly 20 stalls offering a variety of products. They include innovative eco-friendly recycled and lifestyle goods, delightful flavours of snacks, limited-time beverages infused with unique Sha Tau Kok flavours, and local arts and crafts. Additionally, young singers and street artists will perform busking music, creating a relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere for all weekend visitors.

Led by Kit Chan, a columnist, editor, photographer, and independent curator, this tour will guide participants through the #ddhk creative installations at Sai Lau Kok Garden, Sam Tung Uk Museum, and Tsuen Wan Park, where participants will delve deep into the creative concepts of the works and discover the unique features of these landmarks. Kit will also take participants on a tour of Yi Pei Square, the “communal living space” and Nina Park, an extraordinary wood fossil park, exploring the diverse public spaces and experiencing the creative vibe of Tsuen Wan.

This workshop will be guided by Yumi Keung, a SAORI weaving instructor recognised by SAORI International Volunteer College in Japan, and Fung Yuen Man (Ah Man), a descendant of native fishermen from Sha Tau Kok. They will blend traditional fishing net weaving techniques with straw to create unique pieces. In this workshop, participants will not only learn about this tradition and weaving craft but also create a 20cm x 20cm personalised woven artwork by hand.

To let teenagers in North District have a platform to perform, and to boost up the interests of teenagers in singing and encourage the exchange of ideas in music.
